HGUC RX78 Kiva WIP06 -Chest and Shoulder Armor-

One of the slowest Henshin in the world!!! This time i focused on the shoulder armor and a bit on the chest.

Evil eye of impatience.

Pla plates! Also tested out some other pieces but it looked really bad, so i trashed them.

Thats all i  did to the chest, now the shoulder pieces;

Same process as with the neck armor.

This was the sample that i glued flat then attempted to bent… very bad idea, as it cracked all over T_T but thats okay ill leave it as battle damage😀

Attaching to the shoulder.

I cut one of the extra rubber parts in half and glued onto the shoulder.

Put some gold on there and quickly placed the armor in place, now i have a mark on where to glue the nub aka a piece of runner ^^

Test fit, not bad but the armor is too smooth and round. So next i add some dimension after looking more at the SIC figure.

I cut a line(yes its crooked, i didnt used guide lol) where i want to angle the armor and carefully bend/snap it but not completely in two(although that would work too!).

Now the shape matches the style of the SIC figure as you can kinda see HERE its more of a 90 degree angle.

There are better ways to do this, but im just learning and experimenting as i go😛

Made the pieces that go on the back of the shoulder… i didnt follow the original design and make it sharp as seen HERE and now they look like some kinda pizza roll Lol

Stitched the inside with extra pla plate and added a peg that will fit into a slot on the back piece. Added a few layers of glue on the outside.

Done. Example not so clear but now he can move his arms up and down and the shoulder armor moves too.

The back pops out now and a again since the design isnt very solid.

My fav shot.

Will continue to work out the details on the chest and shoulder a bit more. Almost two months in and still soooo much more to do @_@ Lol but im enjoying this very much ^_^

  3. Ah buddy salute to you for trying out so many new things on this build and seeing it through! My RX78 will be straight build for the story, luckily the time limit is unlimited ^^ Will get another one to see through this group build!! I bet you learned a lot from this build.

    * Yoko gives ya a pat on the back😀

    • thanks man, gotta learn one way or another ^^;
      yes, thank goodness for the unlimited time, we would have no completed kits otherwise Lol ahh that sounds good, one rx78 for stores and one for mod.

    • just sticking to the original color scheme, but with “emperor” in the name you gotta expect some goooold😛
      there will be some more red mixed in later hopefully that will balance things out a bit. ^^

    but actually you are a master at something like this!!
    Awesome..

    • wahhh thanks dude!😀 though i am far from mastering this modding stuff. im still a beginner and learning as i go, a master would be someone like heathorn! ^^

  7. awesome *_*

  8. the color scheme is totally cool!! this is a full make-over dude😀

  9. OMG, rocklee, how can you cut those small details on the armor? o.O
    this is surely interesting, must keep watching your WIP.

    • lol i just stab down on the pla plate with the point of my hobby knife, no skill required!😛
      hope to improve in making better looking pieces, fumbling and gluing the smaller pieces effects my level of patience ^^;
