HGM Neue Ziel WIP 06

Late WIP post on the damage Neue Ziel received a few weeks ago.

Grrr remember that one time Kou hit me with a missle?

This was how the damage was on the right shoulder before.

Went for the exposed interior damage look.

Actually I wanted to just make it a dent, but there was an accident in the process which lead to this instead lol It all worked out well because I rewatched that episode and the missile did make a hole in his shoulder armor.

Close ups:

Just a flat surface with one strip across to look like a interior support beam.

To get the effect, I used a lighter to ripple the plastic a bit. Then proceeded to shape the hole with side cutter and knife. After that just touch up with markers!

Ugly ^^;;; you cant really see inside the back much so it should be okay… haha

I can now set aside Neue Ziel for the time being and focus on the RX78 and Gouf Custom. Ive been stuck in a design point with Kiva RX78, but taken a big step in terms of mods with Gouf Custom *cut cut cut!* Will share the wip soon! ^_^

  1. Coo… Impressive damage effects there. You even made something that resembles the inner parts as well.

This, is something I wouldn’t like do to (unless the kit is beyond repair).

    Good job.

    • thanks man, trying out different stuff ^^

i have to mod my kits one way or another to be satisfied lol for me, a good clean build is way tougher and requires more patience to attempt.

  2. Great damage effect with effective rocklee’s weathering method ๐Ÿ˜€
modeling is about problem solving, turned an accident into something like this, sasuga rocklee!

    • thanks! haha woot my own weathering method ^^ it can be unpredictable but that just means unique results! and ive have lots of accidents with my kits, lucky its easier to turn them into something good in weathered and damage builds lol

  3. woah.. damn cool effects there! looks like my SD Dendrobium’s frienemy is awaiting!! lolx. did you use only black markers for the weathering? (i dun mean the damage part) looks nice and roughen up! always loved your mods.. cause its smthing i can nv bear to do.. XD ROCK ON!

    • Lol so that missile that hit my Neue Ziel came all the way from your SD Dendrobium! the frienemies are already long distance communicating! ๐Ÿ˜›

for the overall weathering i used the fat markers; grey, silver, and metallic green. also real touch black and brown for detail touch ups. i feel the same way but about your builds ren, i find that a well done clean build is something i cant do, weird huh? lol

  4. sweet~ ๐Ÿ˜€ superb realistic detailing and damage~!

  5. Battle damage straight off the series! At this rate you’ll have your very own epic final battle scene!

  6. Man thats one nice hole you got there!!! Simple of effective damage mod!! Got to file this technique hehe!!

    • Lol isnt it XD it will take some getting used to in mastering but the process to make this damage start to finish is pretty quick! spread the technique, i wanna see more battle damage wips out there with this haha ๐Ÿ˜›

  7. Yeah, there’s no need to worry about something you can’t really see ๐Ÿ˜€
Nice damage effect man! looks so real!

    • i only realized it looked so bad after gluing it in place lol lucky it isnt noticeable.

i still need to step up my game and attempt mixing this in with some drybrushing and paint chipping tech *i forgot the name of it* and a flat coat to bring things together. with all of that it should look even more realistic! ๐Ÿ˜€

  8. whoa that is one great looking effect! XD

  9. Nice weathering u have there

  10. Now I’m liking this one better than any of your previous attempts..

    • i like this one better too but the technique is unpredictable and hard to control for smaller areas. next type of damage i wanna test out if i can get the tools is using a dremel and soldering iron!
